China India Friendship Award

In recognition of Indian friendly personages, who have been for years contributing to Sino-Indian friendship, and to encourage the enthusiasm of friends from all walks of life in India for China and India friendship, during his visit to India in December 2010, Premier Wen Jiabao, in the name of our association, conferred the China India Friendship Award to nine friendly personages.


Namelist of the Awardees:
 Sitaram Yechury, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist)
 Tan Chung, son of Tan Yunshan, well-known scholar and student of Tagore, winner of Lotus Award, highest national honor of India
 G. Viswanathan, Chancellor of VIT University, founder of the first Confucius School in India
 Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General of CII
 Manoranjan Mohanty, Co-chairman of the Indian Institute of Chinese studies and Professor at the University of Delhi, senior Sinologist
 Sreemati Chakrabati, Chairman of the Indian Institute of Chinese studies and Professor at the University of Delhi
 V. Bhaskaran, Secretary General of India China Friendship Association, Karnataka
 B. S. Shergill, President of Friends of China Association, Punjab
 Pallavi Aiyar, former journalist of Hindustan Times in Beijing
