China-Oceania Friendship Association
The China- Oceania Friendship Association (COFA) was officially founded on February 23, 2005. Its purpose is to promote friendly relations between the Chinese people and people of the Oceanian region, enhance people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, and safeguard world peace. Madam Peng Peiyun, the then Vice Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress, was elected COFA President. Madam Li Xiaolin, the then Vice President of The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, was elected COFA Executive Vice President. Mr. Chen Mingde, the then Vice President of China National Democratic Construction Association, was elected COFA Vice President.
The 2nd COFA Council Meeting was held in Beijing on December 10, 2010. Mr. Liao Hui, CPPCC Vice Chairman, was elected COFA President. Madam Li Xiaolin, CPAFFC President, was elected COFA Executive Vice President. Mr. Ma Peihua, CNDCA Vice President, was elected COFA Vice President.
The current COFA council is formed by over 100 council members from different provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, including Hong Kong SAR. They are all excellent representatives of their respective industries such as business, media, academic circle and education.
